Reads & options

  • 1. If the zone collapses on the high-post catch, kick back out to either corner for an open catch-and-shoot.
  • 2. If the low post can't seal for the entry, the high post can face up and attack the gap between the zone's two levels himself.
  • 3. Run this from either elbow so the defense can't key on a single side of the floor.

Coaching points

  • · The high post has to catch on the move at the elbow gap, not standing flat-footed where the zone can collapse on him easily.
  • · The low post's seal has to happen the instant the high post catches — a late seal lets the zone's back-line defender recover underneath.
  • · Both corner shooters need to stay spaced wide the entire sequence, since a collapsing zone means a likely kick-out.
