Guard-to-Guard Get Action
A quick-hitting guard-to-guard dribble handoff at the top of the key, with the ball-handler clearing away immediately after the exchange to leave the new ball-handler a driving lane downhill.
Set PlaysAges 13–15, Ages 16+
The breakdown
Reads & options
- 1.If the defense switches the handoff, the new ball-handler should attack the smaller or slower defender immediately off the switch.
- 2.If the on-ball defender fights over the exchange, the original ball-handler can curl back to the rim instead of clearing away.
- 3.Chain a second 'get' action with the post player at the elbow if the first exchange doesn't produce a clean advantage.
Coaching points
- The exchange should happen on the move — a dribble handoff with both players standing still is easy for the defense to jump.
- The player clearing away needs to actually clear, cutting all the way through so their defender can't help on the new drive.
- This is a fast, simple way to start a possession with an advantage instead of walking the ball up and setting a static offense.

Horns
A set built around two bigs stationed at both elbows, giving the offense a two-big-screen action to attack from the middle of the floor with shooters spaced in both corners.
Elevator Screen
Two screeners let a shooter cut between them, then step together to close the gap like elevator doors, sealing off the trailing defender for a clean catch-and-shoot.
Floppy Action
A shooter starts at the baseline and reads whether to cut off a single screen on one side or a double screen on the other, giving them two live options to get open.
